The Pipers’ Gathering is auctioning a new set of Hamish Moore Scottish smallpipes in the key of D. The pipes are ebony with solid silver ferrules and boxwood mounts. The bellows are cherry with double skin leather.

The waiting time for a set of Hamish Moore pipes is currently one year. This is an opportunity to beat the wait and become the owner of a first class set of pipes.

Auction Rules:

This is a silent auction, with bidding by email. The minimum bid is USD $2400. The auction begins at 9:01 pm Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday November 16 and will end at 9:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday November 30 2005. The high bidder at the close of the auction will win the pipes.

Shipping and insurance costs will be paid by the winner in addition to the winning bid price. The Pipers' Gathering will notify the winner of the shipping costs at the close of the auction.

Payment is to be made by certified check or bank draft, made payable to The Pipers’ Gathering, Inc. The pipes will be shipped when the payment clears.

A portion of the sale price will go to the Pipers’ Gathering to help support the event, and qualifies as a tax-deductible charitable contribution.

To place your bid, send an email to with the words “Pipe Auction” in the subject line. Include all of the following information in your email:
  • Your name
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • Amount of your bid, in US dollars

Bidders will receive an acknowledgement from The Pipers’ Gathering that their bid has been received and accepted. The winner will be contacted at the close of the auction.
