Taylor Style Half Set in D - Photos Added!

Post by Mike Hulme » Wed Nov 11, 2015 8:17 pm

This is a half set of pipes made by me in the Taylor style. Pitched in D it is made of Blackwood, with brass keywork and ferrules and imitation ivory mounts. The chanter is fully keyed, with a wooden headpiece, and plays in tune throughout it's full two octaves. Two new reeds are included, and further reeds ara available from me. The mainstock is of Sonokeling rosewood and is ready bored for the addition of regulators.
The drones follow the Taylor pattern of a wooden triple bored loop and are fitted with cane reeds.
The bag is of high quality chromed leather, hand stitched, and is airtight. Bellows are veneered in burl walnut, with an ornamentally turned air inlet. The air feed pipe is detachable to assist storage in smaller cases. Comfortable pads are fitted to both paddles, and the bellows supplies a good amount of air, sufficient to power a full set.
Postage and insurance will be at cost - around £25 within the UK, and approx. $75 to the USA. For buyers within the US bagpipe imports are duty free and I am familiar with the necessary import documentation. I am asking £1600 for this set.
Please email or PM me for further details.

Mike

Received this set from Michael last week. Finally have it together. It is well made and very nice looking, especially the chanter. However, the real issue is me! I am still trying to figure out how to hold it, inflate it and get more than just a honk out of it ;^)
