Is there anywhere in the UK selling nyltex apart from Tandy? I would like to try Tim Brittons method of reedmaking and dont want a million miles of the stuff in case I cant make it work.
I think that Nyltex is just a synthetic thread which has been coated in wax and there are many versions of this type of thread available. The best waxed synthetic thread is waxed lacing tape, as it is very heavily waxed. I use a 1mm waxed lacing twine for tying on reeds that I bought from an online electronics store, but I've read that telephone engineers use this stuff, so if you know any they might be able to let you have a little to try out.
