Reed Dimensions for Williams B

Post by daveboling » Thu Jul 09, 2009 7:56 am

I posted this same question at the Chaffed Nipple and received no response. I'm hoping for more response here.
I have a Dave Williams B chanter that needs a new reed. Has anyone made, or have in their possession a working reed for a Williams B chanter, or perhaps a C? I don't think there would be enough difference between the B and C that if the same reed wouldn't work in both, then scaling the C reed up would work.
Please respond by replying to this post, or by PM.

I have successfully reeded a handful of Daves Bs & Cs. You should be okay with the following:

Head 11mm wide (perhaps a little wider for C?), 95mm long slip. Form on 65 - 70mm diam block.
Staple 3.2 - 3.4mm ID, 52mm long. Staple>Head 20mm.

Pretty much standard really.
