Uilleann Teachers in London, UK

Post by orangefridge » Wed Jul 05, 2017 6:02 am

Hi all,

I just purchased my first set of Uilleann Pipes (Alan Burton and Geoff Wyatt Practice).
After reading these forums and seeing that buying very cheap ones to try out would be a dangerous gamble and possible waste of money so I opted for these ones instead.

Now to begin the long journey, I am looking for a teacher in London, UK. If anybody knows of anyone. I see there is a pipers club but that is too difficult for me to get to regularly. I am a music teacher myself (guitar / drums 15+ years) and also played GHB for around 6 years when I was younger so I'm hoping it's a challenge I will enjoy and conquer one day!

Thanks,

Ryan

A good place to start might be the Irish Centre in Camden, as it does promote Irish culture in London and should have links with Irish musicians and so might be able to link you up with some pipers.
