Nicely played Cameron. What did you record this piece with - what mic and software did you use?

Hello PJ,
This was one of the tracks recorded in a studio as part of a band CD. I'm not sure which model of microphone was used but it was a condenser type on a shockmount and the recording software was Pro Tools.

The Morning Thrush (I've done this previously on a C# chanter, but this time it's a concert D set)

Thanks for posting these. I find it a very good way to learn new tunes as I play by ear - deciphering sheet music is hard work for me.

I've been learning the Bucks of Oranmore for a while now and would like to get some feedback or constructive criticism on the way I play it, as well as suggestions for improvement.

I just got round to listening to your file PJ. It's a difficult reel to play on any instrument - so I'd say that you've got it down pretty well on your chanter. One thing I would suggest you could try - a little more in the way of syncopation - which will help to relax the rhythm in your playing. I very much like Seamus Ennis' interpretation of this reel.

Thanks for the feedback.
I found that the Bucks is not a particularly difficult tune to learn. Many phrases repeat.
I like the version that Ennis plays on 40 Years (track 4). But my favourite recording of the Bucks is by Paddy Keenan on the Doublin album.
