I hear that Brian McNamara will be at the Pipers Gathering in Vermont in August. I've been listening to his CD recently and enchanted is the only word. I'm beginning to really appreciate solo piping, thanks mainly to him. His style is so relaxed and fluid that he makes it sound so easy.

I agree! Brian is a lovely piper, a charming person, and an excellent, sensitive teacher. I sat in on his workshops in North Hero, Vermont last year and really enjoyed them. I'm not a big fan of weekend workshops, but his were very good. He is well able to clearly explain his approach to playing in a way that makes sense. His recordings have become real favorites of mine. I never get tired of listening to them.
