I dont know anyone with a set of pipes, Ive never even handled a set of pipes by anyone other than me. Where would someone like me get hold of something as valuable as a crowley chanter? One day I intend to be a very good pipemaker, Ive just been made redundant AGAIN and am starting to think that it...

What software for plotting chanter bores?

What simple software can I use to plot chanter bores? Ive tried some simple(?) cad software, but it appears that cad and I dont mix  . Just something to allow me to see the bore data that doesn't require a fighter pilot to make it do anything. Maybe Im trying too hard with the cad stuff? Maybe...

So what does rolling involve? I have made large ferrules from sheet and can see the advantages of making all ferrules from sheet, but what is involved in the process? Can anyone descibe the rolling process to me or point me to a web page that explains it?

Thanks
Bob

What type of brass fo ferrules, u-bends?

Hi all, I'm Bob, a keen hobbyist pipemaker. I've been away for a while and am just getting back into it. In the past I used K & S brass tubing which was great for ferrules but gave me sleepless nights when it came to u bends. I now realise that that particular type of brass is both too thin and also...
