Calling Michigan pipers

One or more Uilleann pipers needed for fund-raising festival entertainment in Big Rapids, Michigan on June 13 or June 20 (date not yet fixed). Interested parties may contact Jessica Slendak at jessicaslendak (at) gmail dot com. I don't have any more details than this. Sounds like the organizers are ...

Re: On Blu Tack

I use blue poster putty and I can't remember what brand since I bought it years ago. I've never had a problem getting it off of any surface. I really don't use it much any more, but I used to park my local blob on the drone stock.

Re: chanter casting?????

Wasn't there a couple of guys in Boston that did this for awhile? Uilleann Pipeworks? It was only a few years ago. I'm sure someone on this forum will remember them. There are all manner of resins that would be suitable once a cast was made. djm Yes, you're right! They had a booth at the Killington...

Re: newbies start here - New to the uilleann pipes?

http://forums.chiffandfipple.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=77596 Here's a bunch of pipers getting together in NC in September 18-19. Pat Sky is a resident of Spruce Pine and a long time pipemaker/reedmaker. The gathering is laid back, low key and enjoyable. At any rate, get in touch with Pat for starters.

I agree with Jeff. It's not too hard to sort out the topics that hold personal interest. I'm satisfied with the
reedmaking/pipemaking forum "as is".

Re: Oiling Uilleann Pipes

You should be okay with oiling the exterior of the pipes with almond oil. Leave the bores alone, though. As a former NSP and SSP player, I was accustomed to periodically applying oil to my pipes, inside and out. It really helped. I made the mistake of oiling the bore of my Uilleann pipe chanter once...

Re: Hi everyone...I'm a geriatric newbie...LOL

Hi to everyone, Does anyone know any instructors in the Houston area and what are your recommendations for purchasing a set of practice pipes, i.e., brand, make, model, etc. Thanks again for taking the time to read this and any comments you care to share with me. Kindest regards, Harold Bissonnet :...

Thanks! I kind of wondered if it came from the Goodman collection which seemed to get a fair bit of attention a while ago.

Re: St. Louis tionol tune

What was Browne's source of the tune. Jeff? Was there any compelling reason why he chose to teach this one?
