Re: newbies start here - New to the uilleann pipes?

Hello everyone, I have a question for you all. Do you know of any piper that used a legato piping style? I've been practicing and I keep thinking that I may have a legato style but I haven't really heard a style that's more legato, as far as I know anyways.

Thanks,

Tom

Tuning issues

Hello again everyone! I hate to be a bother but I have a slight concern! I picked up my chanter that I borrowed from my instructor two days after my first lesson and my 'A' and 'E' and possibly 'B' were out of tune! Sounded very flat! Is there a way I can fix this?? I heard that uilleann pipes do no...

Re: Help with deathgrip issue

Thank you all so very much! I am loving the pipes, even though they are frustrating and my chanter keeps falling out of tune due to weather changes, Which because i live in michigan that is really going to piss me off lol! But anyways! I am very happy that i have some things to work on now! :)

Help with deathgrip issue

Hello everyone! I have an instructor teaching me quite a bit about piping and I'm well on my way now, but I have two questions that maybe you guys could help me answer! 1) did any of you have a deathgrip on the chanter when you first started playing? 2) any good suggestions on how to solve the death...

Problem with Airflow

Okay, so here's the newest concern i have, SHould i have to apply a great deal of pressure on the bag in order to be able to make a sound from the chanter! Ive checked the neck for kinks and everything, i wondered if that could also be too thick of a reed! If you could help me out that'd be great! :D

I think i am biting off more than i can chew, i can play a scale on one octave only at the moment and even then i havent mastered that, but ive only had the set for a week, so i need to gi...

Re: Questions about my New Set

Thank you for the Advice, i found that filing down the reed made it better, and getting the kink out of the Airbag! :)

Questions about my New Set

I just bought a new Practice set on ebay! Its made of African Blackwood, i was so incredibly excited to get it and i opened the package today about 20 min. ago I set it all up and start it up, I noticed one thing straight away, The Airbag was incredibly hard to sqeeze, i could barely get a sound out...
