Jaysus! It sounds like I was in a severe rush to finish that tune. I want to say there's a good chance that was Sampson's stuff, but I can't be certain. It may've been spanish (medir).... That was a great sounding reed (listening back to it), but truly the chanter is a great sounding chanter...so......

Posting 2 reeds made of diff. sourced cane can produce differences, but really there are other factors as well. Ted's, Medir's, and Sampson's cane are 3 good sources that I know of. Buy sm. quantities from everyone...see how the feel to work with and what you can make sound. This is a learn by exper...

Bill,

Do you have any thoughts re: reducing the intake hole's i.d. to encourage stability?

You mentioned sagging in top rank. ...What about rising in the bottom? Do you feel and over-scraped reed invites that?
