I don't know where you live in Oregon but your time would be well spent to visit Brad Angus. He makes great pipes and lives in Vancouver Washington right near Portland. If you do a google search of his name all the contact information will be there.

I answered the poll as both but what I have is a C half set and a D chanter for lessons. It appears there are more and more people with C sets in this neck of the woods.

I would highly recommend his D sets. I have a C half set made by him and D chanter made by him as well. Both play very well and without the chanter needing to be rushed. He also makes a few different styles but I would just tell him to make one in the same style he would make for himself. That's wha...

Unfortunately it could cause the reverse. Full time instrument makers could have a harder time than a person turning out pipes as a second job. Just playing the devil's advocate. I don't see anything good about a person not being able to receive, and play, a set of pipes they ordered and looked frow...
