Re: Low F# on a B set?

I think its the design like Bill warned. I have a C tenor here at 130/160 that goes to B fine with the same reeds. The other 3 drones are no problem . I had one tenor on these spec 150/180w working fine last yr but I cant figure out which reed it was I used then !

Re: Low F# on a B set?

Im having an issue getting the tenor B up to B it ...

Re: Low F# on a B set?

not quite Michael, the stock will have four seats just as in a normal 4 drone set , just the [ to suit your terminology] Low A swaps out with the bass drone. I come from SSP so on those pipes[D] the Bass drone , is the same as a uilleann Baritone,[D] Technically I think its a Bass drone, the Long D ...

Re: Low F# on a B set?

Thanks Bill, the set in question had 2 bass drones only, D and A , as you say , longer than a standard baritone , Im calling it a bass drone , played one at a time plus a reg I shall see if i can find some pics. Low F# on a B set?

Following on from an idea I saw recently, an old D Pastoral set with only 2 drones; a low D and a low A Im wondering what dimensions a low F# would need to suit the dimensions from the Harrington B in the SRS journal? Approx 4.5mm-5.5 or 5.5-6.5 or in between? What length sections and how many? Is t...

Re: Uilleann Specific Travel Case.

IMO wheels are a waste of time, the vibrations WILLdislodge reeds, which we dont want! I dont mind taking down the baritone drone to get the case down in length. above 55cm is useless to me. but light, yes.. super light! carbon fibre? or aluminium with carbon cage? or thin ply? bamboo? Its a 10kg li...

Re: Andreas Rogge or Koehler/David Quinn

Aaagh dont buy a chanter because of the name or price! buy it because you cant put it down!
What system of tuning does the Rogge chanter use? JI or ET? i have an old Rogge that is in JI, but I gather he tends towards ET these days.... can anyone clarify this?
