Re: Spring Force

There is a very good series of articles in "The Piper's Review" magazine . If you subscribe you also get access to the back issues with articles on most aspects of pipemaking.
NPU has detailed videos on key making by several pipemakers. Those would be the places to start.

Re: NPU Pipemaking Videos

Whoops, spoke too soon. Some new pipemaking videos are available. Many are still blocked. They've been up there teasing us for quite a long time.

Will they ever be made available?

Tried emailing NPU and have gotten "I don't know".

Sorry, sort of irritated at this point.

Re: How Much Scalloping did Leo Rowsome do?

"Leave it with me, I'll see what I can find out for everybody about the chimney heights at least." Bill, did you ever get a chance to look at the J. H. Rowsome chanter? I was comparing the bores of the J.H. chanter and Gay McKeon's Rowsome chanter and noticed they were very similar in shape with the...

Re: NPU Coyne B chanter problem

What dimension did you use for the eye of the staple? I've found an oversized eye ID can sometimes cause that type of problem.

Re: Pipe Measuring Project

A huge thanks to Bill, John, and Chris for putting the time and effort into measuring these historic sets. For hobbyists like myself, it feels like christmas all over again. These plans are the most complete information available and even include information about the reeds currently working in the ...

Pipe Measuring Project

I read the announcement on NPU site that Bill Haneman would be launching the Drawings from the Pipemaking Measuring Project.

Bill, can you elaborate on this? (or do we need to wait until the Feb 23)

Beautiful work as always David.
I love the pronounced swirly grain in the wood. Is it a wood you would use again?

Re: NPU Pipemaking Videos

Looks the pipemaking videos are now viewable!

Great job NPU and a great thanks to the pipemakers that participated. Invaluable material if you want to make pipes.

I've learned I'm even more anal retentive than I thought. Well, the devils in the details butt.....
