FS: Full set in C

Full set in C by Richard Patkós, with two keys on the chanter ("C" & "F"), and a wooden chanter top. The chanter, drones, and regs are African ebony, boxwood, and brass. I do not know the species of wood for the main stock. Everything is working well with the exception of the bass reg reed. The edge...

Piper Needed for Nov 28 Wedding in Atlanta

I've been contacted by a party interested in having an uilleann piper for their wedding on Nov 28th. Since it's Thanksgiving Day weekend, I'm going to be tied up with family events too far away to make the gig. Anyone in the Atlanta area interested in taking the gig should contact me at dbs@hiwaay.n...

Re: Composite drone reeds

It's probably been asked and answered already, but has anyone tried brass tube with cane tongues. It's something I've been wanting to try for a while, but have not gotten around to. If anyone has tried this, what were the results? I've taken the plastic tongue from my Kirk Lynch baritone drone and ...

Re: Michael Vignoles

The practice set I started with was from Michael. The chanter played well and the more experienced players who tried it (primarily to show me that the sounds I was getting at that time were my doing and not the chanter :D ) pronounced it "a good stick". This was about eight or nine years ago. I boug...

Reed Dimensions for Williams B

I posted this same question at the Chaffed Nipple and received no response. I'm hoping for more response here. I have a Dave Williams B chanter that needs a new reed. Has anyone made, or have in their possession a working reed for a Williams B chanter, or perhaps a C? I don't think there would be en...

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc170/tompipes/DSC00570.jpg Chanter # 4. If I say so myself this is a doozie. I made a set of reamers from measurments of a C chanter made by David Quinn and ta- dah...... What? No sound samples? Can't be a REAL chanter unless it can do a chicken crossing the road...

Small diameter cane for reed needed - Cane Found, Thanks all

I need to make a reed for a C chanter in the next couple of weeks and found that all of the tubes I have are too large. Does anyone have a tube or two of smaller diameter (~7/8", 22mm) soft cane that they will part with for a small amount + postage? PM me if you have something available. Thanks, dav...

I opt for the same protection method that has been used for protecting Stradivarius violins for many years. I keep my pipes in a viola case. :P
